I was sorry to read of Mr. Cherkawsky's passing in the Edmonton Journal this morning. In 2005, I had the pleasure of interviewing him for an oral history that is on file at the Strathcona County Museum and Archives. We were recording the memories of the first five families who moved to Sherwood Park and he also shared stories about how he came to Canada and his family back in Ukraine. He was a lovely man with such interesting stories to tell. My condolences to your family.
