To Jane's family;
I was very surprised and saddened to read of Jane's passing.
I met Jane when she became a member of the Community Advisory Council at BGH. We were both there representing the Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley.
It soon became very evident, through her comments during various discussions, that she was a very intelligent, caring, compassionate lady.
She told us of her experience helping an older couple with health issues and how difficult it was to navigate the Health Care System and engage the resources necessary to assist them. Her frustration was visible and I'm sure she persevered to get them the help they needed.
At the last meeting that Jane attended,she mentioned she had been a patient in the hospital recently. The discussion was centered around the lack of identification of the Health Care individuals looking after us and how this one particular morning, a nurse entered her room,stated her name, saying she would be looking after her today. Jane continued,"I screamed with delight, someone had told me her name!"
Blessings and prayers of comfort to Jane's family and friends.
It was a pleasure knowing her for the short time I did.
Sincerely,
Sylvia Foxton
