Bret, Gaynell, & Brice Martin
Marty. May prayers be with the Page family. In this unexpected time of grief at the loss of Mike, please have solace in the fact that through his love, caring, leadership, and mentoring, Mike touched and influenced a lot of lives. His works live on through those he touched, especially those in scouting. At the end of Cub Scouts, Brice was ready to be done with scouts. I made a deal with him. Just one year in the Boy Scouts and if he still didn’t like it, he could quit. I was hoping to set him up for success and knew that Boy Scouts would be more exciting than Cubs. Because of Mike’s leadership and mentoring, Brice did stay in scouts. And earned his Eagle. The leadership influence that he gave Derek and Josh created a wonderfully successful Troop, that strives today because of the foundation that Mike and others before him created. Even after scouts, Mike continued to mentor the boys. We were so proud that Mike hired Brice for his pre-college summer job. It was Brice’s first job and Mike took a chance on Brice and helped him through it. To that I am extremely grateful. Nothing can compare with the loss means to you, Caitlin, and Josh are going through. But I did want you to know that we grieve with you, but also celebrate what Mike has meant to the Martin family. If there is anything we can do for you, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. Love, Bret, Gaynell, & Brice.
