Obituary for Shirley Elizabeth Owens (Thompson)

Shirley Elizabeth Owens (Thompson)
Shirley Elizabeth Owens, a longtime resident of Fraser, died peacefully in her home, surrounded by the love of her family on Saturday evening at the age of 78years.

Shirley was born in Virginia on February 28, 1936, a daughter of the late Truman and Mary Esther (Bloomer) Thompson. She had worked for over 10 years for Allen
Industries in the automotive industry, in real estate as a realtor, a secretary to the city of Fraser managers office and as a volunteer for Catholic Social Services as a Senior Companion after retirement. She served on many committees for her condominium association at Hanover Grove. In her early years she loved Belly Dancing and dancing in general. She was a jack of all trades and was not afraid of tackling any project. She was known as a very prim and proper person who always put family first and was always very giving to others. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Shirley is survived by her loving daughters Sharon (Steven) Simmons, Linda (Paul) Rudys, and Jamie (Nathan Stanek) Owen; her loving grandchildren, Kelly, Danielle, Sherry Lynn, Paul and Jacob; her adoring great grandchildren, Cayman, Kelsey, Grace, Shelby, Tiffany, Steven and Harrison. She is also survived by her siblings, Charma Mullins, Bobby R. (Mary Lou) Thompson and Joyce Davenport. She was preceded in death by her sisters Nannie Lou, Thelma, Anita and her brother, Don
