Just looked up Mr. Smith, because I thought of how much of an influence he had on me as a teacher, way back in the early 90's, thought I would thank him, and then learned that I was almost 10 years too late. I don't know if his family or friends will even see this, but I truly appreciate Mr. Smith, as a man, a mentor, and I am sorry that I never told him this in person. I was a student, when his own father passed, and he had a leave of absence, and came back and taught me through his actions what it really meant to be a man. I hope his own friends and family know how much of an influence he has been to me, and I am sure many other students, throughout his life. He will live on forever, in me, in others, and though I don't know his family, I am sure that he is looking down on you with his unlimited love.
